Kahvia, teetÀ, mehua ja vettÀ

annimarian Kahvia, teetĂ€, mehua ja vettĂ€Kahvia, teetĂ€, mehua ja vettĂ€ – Heippa! MitenkĂ€s viikko on mennyt? Onko viikonloppusuunnitelmia?

En tiiĂ€ mikĂ€ siinĂ€ on, ettĂ€ keskimÀÀrĂ€isen suomalaisen matkustajan on pakko ottaa kaikkea, mikĂ€ on ilmaista ja mielellÀÀn useampi kappale jokaista. Mihin tahansa muun maalaisiin verrattuna ero on suuri. SiinĂ€ missĂ€ vaikkapa japanilainen ottaa vain kahvin, suomalainen ottaa kahvin, mehun JA veden. EhkĂ€ jopa kaksi lasia vettĂ€. Muutaman kerran mun uran aikana suomalainen matkustaja on ottanut mehun, veden, kahvin JA teen. No, kukin tavallaan.

Ainakin pakkaan Japanin laukkuni 😀 Kivaa viikonloppua!

Kahvia, teetĂ€, mehua ja vettĂ€ – Hello! How has your week been? Any weekend plans? Now it is supposed to get warmer here in Finland too, just when I am going away to Japan tomorrow. Well, I hope it would still be warm next week when I have time off.

I don’t often mention anything about my flights here on the blog, but now I have to say something. Recently I’ve had many “holiday” flights, which are normally flights full of Finnish people going on a holiday. And these flights are tough, for a specific reason. I don’t know what’s the deal, but Finnish passengers often need to have everything that is free, preferably even many of them. The difference to any other nationality is big. When a Japanese passenger, for example, takes a coffee, a Finnish passenger wants coffee, water AND juice. Maybe even two glasses of water. A couple of times on my career a passenger has taken water, juice, coffee AND tea.

Just recently a Finnish couple was on my flight and the man ordered drinks from me. He wanted two waters, two juices and a coffee. I gave the couple the drinks and I was moving on to the next passenger, when the woman told me she wanted the same set of drinks as her man. Is it the same phenomena why Finnish people queue for the free buckets? (Only Finnish people know about this, I suppose…). Also, everyday I’m amazed my the people who don’t respond to a greeting or don’t say thank you. That way they only give a really moronic picture of themselves. On my last flight a Finnish man marched into the back galley and just took a newspaper from the table and said: “Do you mind if I take your paper?”. Well, yes, we do mind. How would it ever come to anybody’s mind to walk into the workers’ coffee room and just take something from there? That kind of people surprise me every time.

Earlier today I was out in the garden for some tanning, but it got cloudy and quite cool. Aws won’t be home tonight so I will have a single night. Let’s see what I will come up with. Nothing very exciting, I suppose. At least I will pack my Japan suitcase 😀 Have a great weekend!

Rainy New York

annimarian Rainy New York

annimarian Rainy New YorkRainy New York – Heippa! TĂ€ssĂ€ just istun junassa kohti Oulua.

Kivaa keskiviikkoa!

Rainy New York – Hello! Here I am in the train on my way to Oulu. We arrived from New York this morning and I just drove home to sleep for two hours and change a suitcase and then I headed to the railway station. This time I’m going by train, because the original plan was that Tyyne would travel with me. However, Tyyne and Aws already went there before me, so now I’m traveling alone then.

On the arrival day in New York the weather was terrible – thunder and rain. I didn’t have an umbrella or rain coat with me so my activity for that evening was to run to Wholefoods and back. The next morning I woke up already after 5am and this time I didn’t event try to sleep any longer. I did a workout in my room before the breakfast and after breakfast I headed to the shops. Like I mentioned in my last post, I was planning on buying Levi’s jeans. First I went to Century 21, which is a large outlet store near to our hotel. I kept my eyes strictly on the jeans and I didn’t look at anything else. If you start looking around, you will find a lot of things to buy. The prices are so low as well, so it is actually quite a dangerous place! I didn’t find the jeans there, so next I went to a Levi’s store in SoHo which is also on a walking distance from our hotel. They had almost everything -50 % off, but I only had energy to try on a few pairs, so eventually I didn’t buy the jeans.

For myself I didn’t buy anything, but for Aws I bought shorts. It is so much easier to find big sizes in the U.S.! Somehow the time went so fast and I didn’t do anything else than go to those shops. Well I walked to SoHo and back and that took some time of course. The weather was so warm and sunny!

Now I’m just waiting to arrive in Oulu and to get in my bed. I’m starting to feel quite tired after a night of working and snoozing off the previous night. Have a nice Wednesday!

Weekend

annimarian Weekend

annimarian WeekendWeekend – Heippa! Just muistelin tuossa, ettĂ€ jokunen vuosi sitten Oulun seudulla satoi lunta juhannusaaton aattona! Toivottavasti ei tĂ€nĂ€ vuonna.

Huomenna lÀhen taas Nykkiin ja toivon todella, ettÀ nÀmÀ flunssan rippeet hÀviÀÀ huomisaamuun mennessÀ. SÀÀennuste lupaa sinne kolmeakymmentÀ! Niinku oon sanonut aikaisemmin, yleensÀ en juuri shoppaile tuolla maailmalla, mutta tÀllÀ kertaa ajattelin vilkaista jos löytÀisin Leviksen farkut. En tosin tiiÀ miten hyvin tuo nihkeÀ hellesÀÀ ja farkkujen sovittelu sopii yhteen, mutta katsotaan. Nykin reissun jÀlkeen lÀhdetÀÀnkin suoraan juhannuksen viettoon eli tÀmÀn illan ohjelmassa on pakkaamista molemmille reissuille. Kivaa sunnuntaita!

Weekend – Hello! How has your weekend been? We’ve had a great one, although I have a flu. At least in Helsinki it has been warm now for a few days and it is starting to feel like summer. Yesterday it was a little bit over 20 degrees and it felt soooo warm since we are not used to that yet. Not any more of that +10 and rain, right..? Lets see what the Midsummer weather brings us. I was just recalling that a few years back it snowed in the Oulu area the day before Midsummer! I hope it’s warmer this year.

Tomorrow I fly to New York again and I really hope to lose this flu by tomorrow morning. The weather forecast says it’s going to be around +30 degrees there! Like I have mentioned before, I normally don’t shop much, but this time I think I’ll take a look at some Levi’s jeans. Although I don’t know how well the hot weather and trying on jeans goes together, but we’ll see. After New York we’ll leave to spend the Midsummer in the north! So today’s agenda is packing for both of these trips. Have a great Sunday!
