annimarian AmericanoAmericano – Heippa! Mulla oli tänään töitä ja tulin iltapäivällä takas kotiin. Lähettiin siitä sitten aikalailla heti pyörillä Aurinkolahtea ja Uutelaa kohti. Ostettiin matkalla evästä ja mentiin sinne merenrantaan nauttiin kesäillasta.

Nämä kuvat on kuitenkin eiliseltä, kun näin mun serkkuja keskustassa. Kylläpäs tuntui oikein kesältä, kun auringossa oli ihan kohtuullisen lämmin ja keskustassa oli vipinää. Ostin kesän ensimmäisen jätskin ihan kioskilta! Parempi myöhään kuin ei milloinkaan… Maistoin myös kahvin tuollaisesta kahvikojusta, hyvää oli.

Huomenna on kai taas tulossa lämmin päivä ja mulla on töitä. No, meen vasta iltaan niin ehkä ehdin aamupäivällä nautiskella auringosta takapihalla!

Americano – Hello! I had work today and I got back home in the afternoon. We took our bikes and rode to Aurinkolahti and Uutela right after my work! On the way there we bought drinks and snacks and went to the beach to enjoy the summer night.

These pictures, however, are from yesterday when I met with my cousins in the center. It felt like a real summer day, it was pretty warm and there was a lot of people in the center. I even bought my first ice cream from the kiosk this summer! Better late than never I guess… I also tried a coffee from this bike coffee kiosk-thing. It was good!

Tomorrow it is supposed to be a warm day again. I have work. Well, I’m going to work in the afternoon, so maybe I’ll have a chance to enjoy the sun before work in the backyard!

annimarian Narita shoppingNarita shopping – Heippa! Tällä kertaa vähän shoppailin reissussa! Aika pienellä budjetilla tosin, ja suunniteltuja ostoksia kaikki. Tiiättekö, kun on ihmisiä jotka pitää perinteistä paperikalenteria ja sitten on ihmisiä, jotka luottaa puhelimen kalenteriin. Ja sitten on ihmisiä jotka tykkää tehdä paperille muistiinpanoja ja sitten on niitä, jotka kirjoittaa muistiinpanot läppärillä. No, kuvista varmaan aika selvästi näkee, kumpaan ryhmään kuulun! Sisäinen nörtti pääsi valloilleen Mujissa ostin aivan kiihkossa noita muistikirjoja ja kaikenmaailman kyniä. Daisosta (Japanilainen “euron kauppa”) ostin lisäksi noita teippejä ja minimuistilappuja. Joku pitää mua ehkä hulluna kun ostelen tuommoisia, mutta itse näen asian niin, että hyvä, että noin pienellä rahalla saan itseni tyytyväiseksi 😀

Narita shopping – Hello! This time I did little shopping on my trip! Pretty low budget and all planned things. You know, there are people who like to use a traditional paper calendar and then there are people who use the phone calendar. Then there are people who like to write notes on a paper and some people prefer typing notes on a laptop. Well, looking at these photos I think it is pretty obvious to which group I belong to! My inner nerd took control of me in Muji and I bought those note books and pens like a crazy person. From Daiso (a Japanese “dollar store”) I also bought those mini notes and tapes. Some people might think I’m crazy for buying that kind of stuff, but I see it differently. Great that I can make myself happy with so little money 😀

Uniqlosta lähdin etsimään aluspaitoja ja ne löysin! Pidän virkapuvun alla aina Uniqlon t-paitaa, koska ne on ohuita ja pehmeitä. Yks paita mulla on ollut käytössä yli vuoden ja vaikka pesen sitä jatkuvasti, se ei oo mennyt miksikään. Nyt ostin sitten lisää, yhden t-paidan ja mustan ja valkoisen alustopin. Nuo kaikki aluspaidat ja topit on niin ohuita, että ne on ihan huomaamattomia vaatteiden alla! Uniqlosta ostin myös nuo shortsit. Ei mikään kaikkein seksikkäin näky, myönnetään, mutta maailman parhaat minkä tahansa mekon alla. Vinkki kollegoille: stay-upit ja nuo Uniqlon shaper-shortsit, perfection. Nuo mustat merkillisen näköiset housut on kans samasta kaupasta. Kokeilin vastaavia housuja varmaan vuosi sitten New Yorkin Uniqlossa ja siitä asti oon miettinyt, että pitäiskö ostaa. No, nyt sitten ostin! Korkea vyötärö sekä vajaamittainen ja super leveä lahje. Katsotaanpas kuinka paljon tulee käytettyä.

I was planning on buying underwear t-shirts from Uniqlo and that is what I found! I always wear a Uniqlo t-shirt under my uniform dress, because they are soft and thin. I’ve used one Uniqlo t-shirt over a year now and even though I wash it all the time, it hasn’t gone bad at all. Now I bought one t-shirt and black and white tops. All the underwear pieces are completely invisible under the clothes! Those shorts I also bought from Uniqlo. Not the most sexiest thing, I admit, but they are great under any dress. A tip to colleagues: stay-up socks and those Uniqlo shaper-shorts, perfection. Also those weird looking pants are from the same place. I tested similar pants in New York Uniqlo about a year ago and since then I have been thinking if I should buy them or not. Now I did. High waist and cropped, super wide legs. Let’s see how much I will use them.

Oon aasian kohteissa aina ruokakaupoissa nähny noita ihmeellisiä pikkupulloja hyllykaupalla, tietämättä mitä ne oikeastaan on. Energiajuomashotteja? Aamupalalla tuli perämiehen kanssa puhetta noista merkillisistä pulloista ja hän kertoi mulle, että ne on vitamiinijuomia. Tiedä sitten, kuinka terveellisiä oikeasti ovat, saatika vitamiinipitoisia, mutta kävin kuitenkin äkkiä ennen pick upia ostaan hotellin kaupasta pari. Lähinnä siksi, koska ne näyttää niin söpöiltä! En oo vielä maistanut, kerron sitten miltä ne maistuu, kun tiedän 😀

Sellasta tuli ostettua tällä kertaa. Miltä näyttää? 🙂

In the Asian destinations I have seen these small weird bottles in the markets not knowing what they actually are. Energy drink shots? In the breakfast we happened to start talking about these with the co-pilot and he told me that they are vitamin drinks. I don’t know if they really are healthy or not and how much vitamins they actually contain, but anyhow I went to the hotel shop and bought those bottles just before pick-up. At least they look cute! I didn’t taste them yet. I’ll tell you how they are when I know 😀

annimarian Back homeBack home – Hellou! Eilen iltapäivällä tulin Naritasta kotiin. Täällä Suomessa oli vissiin ollu lämmin viikonloppu, ainakin somen perusteella. Tietenkin mää olin taas muualla ja nyt kun oon taas kotona ja vapaat edessä, niin täällä sataa… Noh, tulipas nyt negatiivinen aloitus postaukselle! Mutta kyllähän se vähän harmittaa ettei pääse nauttiin auringosta ja lämmöstä.

Lämmöstä puheenollen, Naritassa oli kuuma! Toisinaan kuulen joiltakin, että eihän se haittaa jos Suomessa on huono sää, kun pääsen maailmalle nauttimaan auringosta niin usein. Voin kertoa, että se ei oo aina niin nautinnollista. Esimerkiksi tällä reissulla meinasin kuolla siihen kuumuuden ja väsymyksen yhdistelmään. Tultiin hotellille aamupäivällä paikallista aikaa. Mua ei jostain syystä edes väsyttänyt työyön jälkeen, mutta menin silti nukkuun pariksi tunniksi. Ajattelin, että meen aikaisin käymään ulkona, niin pääsen aikaisin sitten takas hotellille. No, kyllä mua sitten sen parin tunnin nukkumisen jälkeen väsytti. Ymmärtäähän sen, kun on yö jäänyt välistä ja sitten pikku tirsojen jälkeen lähtee liikkeelle.

Kun on liikkeellä siihen aikaan, kun kehon rytmi on yöajassa, pelkkä auringonpaiste särkee silmiä. Menin bussilla läheiselle ostarille (hotellin lähettyvillä ei oikein ole muuta) ja matka oli yhtä tuskaa! En saanu silmiä pidettyä auki, koska aurinko vihloi niin kovasti silmiä (aurinkolasit ei ollu mukana…) ja jos laitoin silmät kiinni, meinasin saman tien nukahtaa. Bussimatka vielä venyi ruuhkan takia. Lopulta vielä “jouduin” käveleen pikku matkan auringossa ja kuumuudessa (yli 30 astetta) Uniqlohon, joka sijaitsee ostarin ulkopuolella. No, mitä sitä ei tekisi muutaman aluspaidan tähden! Shoppailusaldon esittelen seuraavassa postauksessa.

Viimeyönä sain ihanasti nukuttua yli kymmenen tuntia ja kyllä sitä on kuin uusi ihminen hyvien unien jälkeen! Nyt mulla on sitte vielä kolme vapaata edessä ja sadetta luvattu joka päivälle. No, pitäis ainakin ehtiä postailla sitten! Kivaa alkuviikkoa! 🙂

P.s. Daisossa joskus näkee monelaisia tuotteita, joihin on kivasti lisätty vähän suomen sanoja. Niinkuin tuo lasten Animals söpö-lounasboksi. Olis kiva tietää, mikä juttu tuossa on oikein takana 😀

Back home – Hello! Yesterday afternoon I came back home from Narita. It seems like it was a warm weekend here in Finland, at least based on social media. Of course I was away when it was warm for once and now that I’m here and I have time off, it is going to be rainy for the whole week… What a negative start for the post, but I have to admit that it does bother me that I can’t enjoy the warmth and sun here.

Talking about warmth, it was hot in Narita! Sometimes I hear from people, that I shouldn’t mind the bad weather in Finland because I get to enjoy the sun around the world all the time. Well, I can tell you, it is not always so enjoyable. For example on this trip, I felt like dying with the combination of the heat and tiredness. We arrived to the hotel before noon local time and for some reason I didn’t even feel tired after the night of working. I still went to sleep for two hours, because I thought that if I go out early, I can also return to the hotel early. Well, I did feel tired after waking up. And no wonder, because I had skipped the night and then just taken a little nap.

When you are out at a time when your body is in the night rhythm, even the sun hurts the eyes sometimes. I took a bus to a mall (there is really nothing else near the hotel) and the ride was a struggle! I couldn’t keep my eyes open, because the sun hurt my eyes so bad (I didn’t have my sunglasses with me) and if I closed my eyes, I was falling asleep. The bus trip took even longer than normal because of the traffic. In the end I still “had to” walk some time to Uniqlo in the sun and the heat (over 30 degrees). What would you not do for a couple of underwear t-shirts! I will show my shoppings in the next post.

Last night I had over ten hours of sleep, so lovely. I feel like a new person now! Now I still have three days off and it is supposed to be raining every day. Well, at least I should have time to post! Have a nice beginning of the week 🙂

P.s. In Daiso I sometimes see stuff printed with Finnish words. Like that kids’ Animals söpö-lunch box. Söpö means cute in Finnish. I would like to know the story behind these 😀

annimarian Off to JapanOff to Japan – Heippa! Pikainen postaus tästä takapihalta kirjoitettuna! Vitsit, mikä sää! Aurinko paistaa ja on niin ihanan lämmin. Täytyy myöntää, että kyllä harmittaa lähtä kohta töihin… Näitä lämpimiä päiviä kun ei oo montaa tänä kesänä ollut.

Lähden siis tänään Naritaan Japaniin. Sielläkin on kyllä lämmin, äsken katoin, että kolmeakymmentä olis luvattu. Me tosin ollaan siellä aamupäivällä paikallista aikaa ja hotellille päästyä pitää mennä nukkumaan. Eli tulen olemaan liikkeellä siinä iltapäivällä ja illalla. Joka tapauksessa, tiedossa on sushin syöntiä ja ehkä vähän shoppailua. Kivaa viikonloppua, nauttikaa ihanasta säästä!

Off to Japan – Hello! A quick post from the back yard! What a weather! Sun is shining and it is so warm. I have to admit, that I am a little sad to go to work on a day like this… It hasn’t been too many warm days this summer.

So I’m flying to Narita, Japan today. It is also warm there, the forecast says it should be around thirty degrees. Although we will arrive there in the morning local time and I will have to go to sleep right away, so I’ll be on the move in the afternoon and night. Anyway, some sushi and shopping is on my list for this trip. Have a nice weekend and enjoy the lovely weather!

Kahvia, teetä, mehua ja vettä

annimarian Kahvia, teetä, mehua ja vettäKahvia, teetä, mehua ja vettä – Heippa! Mitenkäs viikko on mennyt? Onko viikonloppusuunnitelmia? Just sopivasti nyt kun pitäis vähän lämmetä täällä Suomessakin, niin lähden sitten huomenna Japaniin. Jospa sitten ensi viikollakin olis lämmintä kun mulla on vapaata!

En juuri koskaan mainitse lennoista sen enempää täällä blogissa, mutta nyt on kyllä pakko vähän avautua. Mulla on viimeaikoina ollut monta ns. “lomalentoa” mitkä on yleensä täynnä suomalaisia matkustajia menossa lomalle. Ja ne on aika työteliäitä lentoja sattuneesta syystä. En tiiä mikä siinä on, että keskimääräisen suomalaisen matkustajan on pakko ottaa kaikkea, mikä on ilmaista ja mielellään useampi kappale jokaista. Mihin tahansa muun maalaisiin verrattuna ero on suuri. Siinä missä vaikkapa japanilainen ottaa vain kahvin, suomalainen ottaa kahvin, mehun JA veden. Ehkä jopa kaksi lasia vettä. Muutaman kerran mun uran aikana suomalainen matkustaja on ottanut mehun, veden, kahvin JA teen. No, kukin tavallaan.

Vasta oli lennolla suomalainen pariskunta ja mies tilasi minulta juomia. “Kaks vettä, kaks mehua ja kahvi”. Annoin pariskunnalle juomat ja olin jo siirtymässä seuraavaan matkustajaan, kun nainen ilmoitti, että hän haluaisi samanlaisen setin. Onko se se sama ilmiö, minkä takia ihmiset jonottaa niitä ilmaisia ämpäreitäkin? Samoin pistää miettimään se, että ihmiset ei välttämättä vastaa tervehdykseen saatika sano kiitos. Noinhan ihminen antaa vaan itsestään todella tökerön kuvan. Viime lennolla takakeittiöön marssi (suomalainen) mies, nappasi pöydältä sanomalehden ja sanoi: “Eikai haittaa jos vien teidän Hesarin?”. No kyllä se haittaa. Kenellä tulisi mieleen missään työpaikalla marssia työntekijöiden taukotilaan ja viedä sieltä jotakin? Nuo tuommoiset ihmiset kyllä pistää ihmetyttämään päivästä toiseen.

Olin äsken pihalla hetken ottamassa aurinkoa, mutta sitten menikin pilveen ja tuli aika viileät olot. Aws ei oo tänä iltana kotona, niin mulla on tiedossa sinkkuilta. Saa nähä mitä keksin, tuskin mitään hurjan jännittävää. Ainakin pakkaan Japanin laukkuni 😀 Kivaa viikonloppua!

Kahvia, teetä, mehua ja vettä – Hello! How has your week been? Any weekend plans? Now it is supposed to get warmer here in Finland too, just when I am going away to Japan tomorrow. Well, I hope it would still be warm next week when I have time off.

I don’t often mention anything about my flights here on the blog, but now I have to say something. Recently I’ve had many “holiday” flights, which are normally flights full of Finnish people going on a holiday. And these flights are tough, for a specific reason. I don’t know what’s the deal, but Finnish passengers often need to have everything that is free, preferably even many of them. The difference to any other nationality is big. When a Japanese passenger, for example, takes a coffee, a Finnish passenger wants coffee, water AND juice. Maybe even two glasses of water. A couple of times on my career a passenger has taken water, juice, coffee AND tea.

Just recently a Finnish couple was on my flight and the man ordered drinks from me. He wanted two waters, two juices and a coffee. I gave the couple the drinks and I was moving on to the next passenger, when the woman told me she wanted the same set of drinks as her man. Is it the same phenomena why Finnish people queue for the free buckets? (Only Finnish people know about this, I suppose…). Also, everyday I’m amazed my the people who don’t respond to a greeting or don’t say thank you. That way they only give a really moronic picture of themselves. On my last flight a Finnish man marched into the back galley and just took a newspaper from the table and said: “Do you mind if I take your paper?”. Well, yes, we do mind. How would it ever come to anybody’s mind to walk into the workers’ coffee room and just take something from there? That kind of people surprise me every time.

Earlier today I was out in the garden for some tanning, but it got cloudy and quite cool. Aws won’t be home tonight so I will have a single night. Let’s see what I will come up with. Nothing very exciting, I suppose. At least I will pack my Japan suitcase 😀 Have a great weekend!
