annimarian dubai part 1Dubai part 1 – Heippa! Nyt sitten Dubai-asiaa! Kuten jo aikaisemmin mainitsin, Aws oli ekaa kertaa mun mukana reissussa. Id-lipuilla matkustaminen on kyllĂ€ niin hermoja raastavaa, ettĂ€ sitĂ€ ei voi suositella kenellekÀÀn 😀 Aamulla olin sitten paskoa housuuni jĂ€nnityksestĂ€, kirjaimellisesti. JĂ€nnitti niin hulluna pÀÀseekö Aws mukaan. No pÀÀsihĂ€n se sitten! Onneksi!

Onneksi, koska hotelli on ihana! Melkeen ekana mentiin sinne mun lempparikauppaan eli Kinokuniyan kirjakauppaan. Molemmat löydettiin ostettavaa! Suurimmassa osassa kirjakaupoista, ainakin noilla turistialueilla, ei oo arabiankielisiÀ kirjoja ollenkaan, mikÀ on aika hassua kun kuitenkin kyseessÀ on arabimaa. Tuolla Kinokuniyassa kuitenkin on.

Illemmalla kĂ€ytiin sitten nauttimassa kahvia ja baklavaa ja katsottiin suihkulĂ€hdeshow Burj Khalifan juurella. Sen jĂ€lkeen suunnattiinkin takas hotellille. Tuommoinen koko pĂ€ivĂ€n kestĂ€vĂ€ ympĂ€riinsĂ€ lompsiminen on aika rankkaa loppujen lopuksi 😀 Huomenna kirjottelen lisÀÀ viimeisestĂ€ Dubai-pĂ€ivĂ€stĂ€! HyvÀÀ yötĂ€! 🙂

Dubai part 1 – Hello! Now some Dubai stuff! Like I mentioned before, Aws traveled with me for the first time. Traveling with the id-tickets is so nerve-racking, that I don’t recommend it to anyone 😀 In the morning I almost shit my pants, literally, because I was so nervous. Well, he got in! We were both so happy during the whole trip 🙂

All the visa stuff added the uncertainty of the whole trip. Aws needed a visa to enter Dubai and we were told that most of the Iraqian visa applications get rejected. The visa has to be paid of course, even though we didn’t know it will be accepted or if he will get on the flight. This time the risk was worth it!

On the first night we went to Marina to have dinner and to look around. We came back to the hotel in a good time, because at least I slept so bad the last night because I was so nervous. We are staying in the same hotel this season again, which is very nice because the hotel is amazing! On each trip I take pictures of that beautiful orchid arrangement, even though it doesn’t look so special in the pictures. In real life it is quite amazing! On the second day after the breakfast I went to the pool area to sunbathe for half an hour and after that we went to Dubai Mall. We went to my favorite shop, Kinokuniya book store, almost right away. We both found something to buy! Most of the book stores, at least in the touristic areas, don’t have Arabic books at all, which is quite funny since that is an Arabic country after all. Kinokuniya has them.

Later that night we enjoyed some coffee and baqlawa and watched the fountain show by Burj Khalifa. After that we headed back to the hotel. That strolling around for the whole day can be quite tough after all 😀 Tomorrow I’ll write more about the last Dubai day. Good night! 🙂

Home from Dubai – Heippa! No, nyt ainakin vĂ€syttÀÀ siihen malliin, etten malta oottaa ettĂ€ pÀÀsen nukkuun 😀 Palataan huomenna asiaan!

Home from Dubai – Hello! Today around midday we arrived home from Dubai! Aws was traveling with me, for the first time 🙂 The wake up time in Dubai this morning was 02:45am which is 00:45 the Finnish time so we were quite tired when we got home. I just put some pictures and videos to the hard drive and tomorrow I’ll do a proper travel post. No I’ll go to the market to buy some food and then I’m planning on doing a quick workout before going to sleep early. Or I’ll try to go… No matter how tired I am in the evening, normally the tiredness fades away around 10pm and then I might end up staying up for late. Well, at least at the moment I am so tired I can’t wait to go to sleep 😀 Talk to you tomorrow again!

Don’t you know who I am?

annimarian Don't you know who I amDon’t you know who I am? – Heippa! Mulla oli tĂ€nÀÀn ja eilen aamu-Eurooppaa. Ihan kiva kulkea tĂ€llaisessa (melkein) normaalissa rytmissĂ€ edes vĂ€hĂ€n aikaa! Viime viikolla mulla oli pt-pĂ€ivĂ€t ja sain mennĂ€ kaks pĂ€ivÀÀ omissa normaaleissa vaatteissa kahdeksasta neljÀÀn aikataululla. Sain juoda rauhassa aamukahvia ennen töitĂ€ ja kattoa aamu-tv:tĂ€. VĂ€hĂ€n on kyllĂ€ ikĂ€vĂ€ tuota arkea!

MikÀ on heidÀn selitys sille, ettei kÀytöstapoja tarvi?

Usein, kun lennolla on joku todella tunnettu henkilö saakin yllÀttyÀ siitÀ, miten ystÀvÀllisesti ne kÀyttÀytyy! Vaikka nÀmÀ tyypit saa varmasti kyllÀstymiseen asti kuunnella ihmisten juttuja, kirjoitella nimmareita ja olla kuvissa, he silti jaksavat kÀyttÀytyÀ hyvin kaikkia kohtaan. Niille nostan hattua!

Nyt alan keitteleen omenasosetta noista omenoista, mitkĂ€ on odotellu mun huomiota jo muutaman pĂ€ivĂ€n. Kivaa illanjatkoa! 🙂

Don’t you know who I am? – Hello! Today and yesterday I had morning-Europe flights. It’s nice to go around in the (almost) normal rhythm even for a moment! Last week I had my recurrent training and I got to go two days in my own normal clothes and in the eight-to-four schedule. I could have my morning coffee in peace and watch the morning tv before going to work. I miss that life a little!

There on the flights I get to meet a lot of different people and one thing just makes me wonder. There are these people who are so important and high level (in their own opinion) and then they don’t have even the most simple manners. No greeting, not much of any verbal communication, no eye contact, no smile and they are only concerned about themselves. I would really like to know, what is that mysterious position, that after reaching it you won’t need to possess the normal manners? Don’t those people understand how bad impression having no manners gives them? What is their excuse for no manners?

Often when there is a really famous person on a flight, I get surprised on how friendly they behave! Those people who must be tired of speaking with people, giving autographs and being in pictures, they still behave in a nice way towards everyone. Respect!

Now I’ll start making apple pure of those apples that have been asking my attention for a few days already. Have a nice evening! 🙂

Layover life – Iltaa!

Kivaa viikonloppua! 🙂

P.s. Kattokaa mitkĂ€ kengĂ€t tuossa toisen katukeittiökuvan vasemmassa reunassa nĂ€kyy. Wtf?! 😀

Layover life – Good evening! Yesterday afternoon I got back home from Bangkok. The return flight was nice and easy. We had quite few passengers and the flight time was long, so we got quite long rests. Wohoo! In Bangkok the weather was a little rainy so I didn’t even think of going to the pool area. I think I would have skipped it even without the rain, though. I haven’t been in the sun for a long time now, so I couldn’t have tanned for long anyway. So I didn’t go at all 😀 After my nap I went to have a foot massage in a place near the hotel, the same place I visited the last time. In the end of a foot massage they always do a quick, few minutes shoulder and neck massage as well. My shoulders were probably more jammed than ever and I could hear and feel this crackle on each muscle she touched. That’s why I asked for an extra shoulder massage and oh boy, that felt gooood. Well, painful, but good. Twenty minutes of (quite rough) massaging and I could feel the blood circulating! Now my shoulders are a little sore though…

I have mentioned it before that on my layovers I usually go to the same restaurants over and over again, so I can avoid unpleasant surprises. And I don’t need to waste precious time on searching for a new restaurant. There are a lot of street food stalls around and some of them look quite tempting. I haven’t ever bought food from them and I don’t think I ever will on my work trips. It would be quite embarrassing to get a food poisoning and then having to admit eating street food. So again I took the ferry over the river to go to my favorite restaurant. For some reason, I was the only customer although it is normally fairly popular place. There I was eating my dinner, alone in the whole place, until in the end a family came to sit at the table next to me. They were eying me, maybe thinking why a western woman sat there all alone. At that moment, I was eating my spicy salad, which happened to be very spicy. Water was pouring from my eyes and I was sniffling, so maybe they were staring because they thought I was crying and eating alone 😀

Now I will start making dinned and red wine and a delicious cheese are waiting as a dessert. Tomorrow we will go to Tallinn with Aws. Have a great weekend! 🙂

P.s. Did you see the shoes on the left side of the second street food picture. Wtf?! 😀
